Chitra- Celebrating Mother & Nature on Canvas & Paper In the midst of concreteness galore, there will always be a desire to venture into the lap of nature which is exactly what this exhibition aims at doing. Portraying the diversely beautiful themes of flora & fauna, along with architectural heritage, ‘Chitra’ is a solo exhibition by Trishna Singh who has manifested her love for the beauty of nature through artworks on paper and canvas. At the early age of 16, Trishna involved herself in art classes which later transformed into her pursuing a formal education of Color Theory and Oil Painting at the Summer school at Parsons, perfecting her style further with Communication Design Illustration. To her, the medium of painting has enabled her to understanding via an intimate and imaginative approach through various forms of oil paint and watercolour. Her works are a narrative of her extensive travels which enraptures viewers, making them a part of her art. The body of work displayed are 50 stretched oil on canvas and over 40 works of water colour on paper which has taken six years to complete. Featuring the female form through her art is a celebration of her and nature. Depicting the intrinsic forms of though process and the many of human nature, she has experimented with an array of shades ranging from vibrant to subdued in animal forms too, such as birds, leopards, tigers and even the temples of India.
